Where will you go around Khao San Road?

  • Phra Sumen Fort

It's located on Phra Athit Road, which used to be one of 14 historical forts built to protect the political center of Thailand against invaders. Today, Phra Sumen Fort is a cool place for taking photos with the view of the Chao Phraya River, including your relaxation time.

  • Wat Chana Songkhram

It's conveniently located a short walk from Khao San Road. It is a modest but impressive 18th-century temple. The temple is home to a beautiful Buddha statue and a shrine to King Taksin the Great — the only King of the Thonburi Kingdom who could conquer over the Burmese Troops after the Second Ayutthaya Kingdom's Fall.

  • Phra Athit Road

It's a short step from Khao San Road. It's a picturesque street that’s easy to access via the Chao Phraya River. Home to a selection of cafés, restaurants, and bars, it’s a popular daytime and evening hangout for locals and backpackers alike.

  • Bang Lamphu Market

This is still mainly a market frequented by locals to buy clothes and household accessories. There's a separate market on Khao San Road itself, which sells anything foreign backpackers could need, including backpacks, stereos, and pirate CDs, books, clothes, and travel accessories.

  • Wat Bowonniwet Vihara

Wat Bowonniwet Vihara is an impressive Thai Buddhist temple built during the reign of King Rama III. Built using a Thai-Chinese style, the temple contains a 14th century Buddha image and is closely associated with Thailand’s Royal Family.
